Bralorne Gold Mine Ltd. currently occupies 2,490 hectares (5,478 acres) of rich gold property located 150 air miles from Vancouver, British Columbia. Accessible by paved roads; only 241 km -- about 5 hours north from Vancouver with a full infrastructure in place. Local labor pool and supplies in the near area allow a quick response to exploration and development programs.
Bralorne Gold Mines Ltd. is exploring the historic Bralorne-Pioneer gold mine
property with the aim of establishing mineral resources to justify a new mine
operation. Recent success in one of the boundary gap areas between the
historic Bralorne and King mines resulted in additional resources being identified.
The Bralorne-Pioneer gold mine was a major gold producer for over 40 years,
with a recorded production of in excess of 4 million ounces of gold. The mine
shut in 1971 down at a time of low gold price, and would not have shut down at
today's metal price. The mine was developed on a classic gold quartz vein
deposit, comparable in geological aspects to major gold deposits such as those
in the well-known Timmins, Kirkland Lake, Red Lake, Yellowknife, Motherlode
and Kalgoorlie districts. The mine developed on rich gold-quartz veins that were
followed from surface to over 6500 feet (2000 meters) depth. Virtually no
exploration was conducted over the life of the mine because the ore veins were
extremely persistent and relatively easy to develop.
After closure, exploration programs consisting of diamond drilling and
underground rehabilitation were conducted. The most significant of these was
done by Corona Corporation and its predecessor company prior to Corona
becoming involved in development projects elsewhere.
Bralorne Gold Mines Ltd. acquired control of all of the historic mine properties
starting in 1973 and culminating in 2002. During that time, new discoveries were
made using geochemical surveys, the most significant of which is the Peter vein
on the historic Cosmopolitan mine property. A start-up mill was constructed and
permitted, and trial mining was conducted on the Peter and 51BFW veins in 2004
and 2005. In 2006, on-going drill exploration intersected bonanza grades in the
Bralorne-King mine gap area. Follow-up drilling in 2007 discovered the BK Zone,
a parallel vein lying south of the King vein. In 2008, underground drifting was
conducted on the BK zone, which delineated significant mineralized shoots.
